Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Why should I use a posh pony?
How do I choose my color?
First, select a color from our Color Guide that you believe best matches your athlete's hair. Then, send us a few photos of their hair in good, natural light so we can check that your decision is ideal for them. If you are local, we can match their hair in person using our color swatches.
What posh length should I order?
The perfect posh length for each athlete is a unique combination of their age, height, and personal preference. We understand that each athlete is different, and we're here to help you find the posh that's just right for you.
- Ages 6-8: recommended length is 14".
- Ages 9-12: recommended length is 14"-16".
- Ages 12-Adult: Any of our length options will look amazing on athletes in this age group.
Note:
- These recommendations are for athletes of average height within each age group who want their posh length to sit around their shoulders when curled.
- If your posh will be styled as straight, it is best to order at most the recommended length.
- If ordering an XL Tease, choose 2" longer than the recommended lengths.
How do I know what size bun to select?
XS/Small Bun:
- Best for thin hair or average-length hair with normal thickness
- Size: About 1/2 the size of your fist or similar to a clementine
Medium Bun:
- Ideal for hair of average length and thickness, or thick hair with shorter length
- Size: Slightly smaller or about the same size as your fist, similar to an avocado
Large Bun:
- Suited for thick hair with normal length
- Size: About the same size or slightly larger than your fist, like an apple
Extra Large Bun:
- Designed for long, exceptionally thick hair with considerable length. This look requires additional hair.
- Size: About the size of two fists put together or like a grapefruit
- Note: Due to the amount of hair used, the Extra Large Bun has its own pricing based on length.
*IMPORTANT: The bun needs to be at least the size of a small fist so the posh has enough to secure to. If the bun in too small or does not fill the net, we recommend using a donut to create a larger bun.
Purchasing the M/L size is usually the best option for all, so it can accommodate if their hair grows or thickens through the years while using the posh.

Does my posh come with combs on the net?
PLEASE NOTE: We’ve recently updated our design and no longer include combs on the net, as we’ve found they aren’t necessary for the overall functionality and security of the posh. Rest assured, the structure of the posh and net remains the same and is as strong as ever.
How do I secure the posh so it doesn’t fall out?
Multiple techniques can be used to secure the posh so it does not fall on the competition floor. Please view our instructional videos here.
We have included the supplies you need for both of our preferred techniques in your kit. When you receive your posh, you will also receive a card with step-by-step instructions for each method.
Be sure to practice a few times before wearing it to a competition. Testing your posh securing skills by having your athlete wear it for practice is even better!
Can I wash and restyle my posh?
Yes! You can either send it back to us to be washed and restyled (click here for more information) or do it yourself.
If you choose to do it yourself, remember that your posh is made of human hair and needs to be properly cared for to ensure its longevity.
Wash with a sulfate-free, clarifying shampoo and apply a deep conditioner. Before rinsing out the conditioner, use a detangling comb to brush out the tangles and tease, layer by layer.
Then blow dry and style.
Make sure to use a heat protectant before applying any heat. And keep your curling or flat iron under 355 degrees Fahrenheit when styling.
Is the posh made from human hair?
Yes. The Perfect Posh ponytails are made with 100% Remy Human Hair.
Is it normal to see some fallout on the edges of my cheer ponytail?
Yes, it's perfectly normal to notice some fallout on the edges of your cheer ponytail when you first receive it. Each cheer posh ponytail is custom handmade, and during this process, some natural shedding can occur. This is a common part of creating a high-quality, personalized product and does not affect the overall durability or appearance of your ponytail. If you have any concerns or experience significant shedding, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for assistance.
What comes with my posh?
When you receive your posh, it will come in a plastic tote with a lid for storage and travel. You will also get a kit that includes spiral hair pins, a needle and thread, scissors, a claw clip, and a card with step-by-step instructions on our two favorite methods to secure your posh, as well as the QR code for our website where you can find video tutorials in the Highlights.

If your posh requires a repair due to issues with the wefts (and it has been properly cared for), please contact us directly at theperfectposhpony@gmail.com. We will repair only the wefts that need to be resewn onto the net.
While we have meticulously researched and acquired the highest-quality materials to create your posh, we can only guarantee our own craftsmanship.
PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to use spiral pins or zip ties, please be extra careful when removing them from your posh as to avoid creating holes in the net. Pulling them out too quickly can risk tearing the net. Please remove them carefully and gently to avoid damage. We are not responsible for any damage caused by removal.

We advise against dyeing the posh, as we cannot guarantee how it will react or the final outcome with the new dye.

We do not offer returns.
However, on a case by case basis we may evaluate for an exchange if it has been worn ONLY to just try it on.
