The Perfect Posh saves endless time when getting ready, as it requires minimal styling compared to natural hair. This is especially beneficial for early morning competitions. There is no damage to your athlete's hair from teasing and heat. Also, wearing our posh will give your athlete that extra boost of confidence to go out there and slay on the mat!

Our posh pony comes in various styles (curled or straight), lengths, and colors, allowing for versatility in hairstyles without committing to permanent changes to your natural hair.

WHAT COMES WITH MY POSH:

Each Perfect Posh comes with: tote box for travel, spiral bobby pins, needle, thread, scissors, claw hair clip, and instructions.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT LENGTH TO SELECT:

Hair length is a personal preference, but if you are looking for some suggestions, here's what we think!

Ages 6-8: 12-14 inch

Ages 9-12: 14-16 inches

Ages 12-Adult: 14-22 Inches

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TEASE & BUN SIZE TO SELECT:

TEASE HEIGHT:

Small Tease - Below top of bow (approximately 2 inches).
Regular Tease - Even with top of bow (approximately 3 inches).
Large Tease - Above top of bow (approximately 4 inches).
Extra Large Tease - Approximately 6 inches.  Approximately The fiercest of fierce and ready to slay. This look requires additional hair. Therefore XL Tease has its own pricing dependent on the length.

BUN SIZE GUIDE:

XS/Small Bun:

• Best for thin hair or average-length hair with normal thickness
• Size: About 1/2 the size of your fist or similar to a clementine

Medium Bun:

• Ideal for hair of average length and thickness, or thick hair with shorter length
• Size: Slightly smaller or about the same size as your fist, similar to an avocado

Large Bun:

• Suited for thick hair with normal length
• Size: About the same size or slightly larger than your fist, like an apple

Extra Large Bun:

• The XL Bun is designed for athletes whose bun measures 8.5 inches or larger.
• How to measure: Start at the base of the bun, measure over the top, and down to the base on the opposite side.
• Designed for long, exceptionally thick hair with considerable length. This look requires additional hair.
• Size: About the size of two fists put together or like a grapefruit
• Note: Due to the amount of hair used, the Extra Large Bun has its own pricing based on length.

*IMPORTANT: The bun needs to be at least the size of a small fist so the posh has enough to secure to. If the bun in too small or does not fill the net, we recommend using a donut to create a larger bun.

 

STYLE:

Curls will naturally relax over time, so occasional touch-ups are needed to keep your Posh looking fresh. The time between touch-ups depends on the curl style you choose—some hold their shape longer than others. You’re welcome to restyle it yourself, or send it back to us for a professional refresh (available as a paid service).

Tight Curls: Delicate and defined, our Tight Curls begin about halfway down the hair for a beautifully balanced, bouncy finish. These lovely spirals tend to allow longer between touch-ups, and as they naturally relax over time, they transform into a softer, lived-in look that’s just as beautiful. It’s a style that evolves with ease—perfect for those who love a touch of structure with a hint of fairytale flair.

Medium Curls: Effortlessly pretty, our Medium Curls begin about halfway down the hair and flow into soft, relaxed waves. Created using a special curl technique, this style gives off a breezy, beachy feel—like you just stepped into sunshine and sea air. With the perfect balance of polish and movement, it’s an easygoing, natural look that still feels perfectly put together.

Loose Curls: Soft and flowy, our Loose Curls begin about halfway down the hair and are created using the same technique as our Tight Curls—just with a larger barrel for a more relaxed finish. The result is a gentle wave with a touch of bounce, offering a laid-back yet polished look that moves beautifully and feels effortlessly pretty.

Ringlets: This hairstyle features luscious, cascading curls that flow beautifully from root to tip. This full, voluminous look is characterized by its even distribution of curls throughout the entire length of your hair, not just the ends. Experience the perfect blend of bounce and body with this stunning, all-over curl effect.

Mermaid Curls: Dive into a dreamy new look with our Mermaid Curls—a magical twist on our classic Ringlets! Using a unique curling technique, each curl is crafted to mimic the effortless, tousled texture of beachy waves straight out of a fairytale. The result? Soft, flowing curls with a hint of whimsical flair, giving you that “just-surfaced-from-the-ocean” perfection. It’s the ultimate blend of movement, magic, and mermaid-inspired beauty.

*Disclaimer: The Perfect Posh is made from human hair, weather conditions like rain, mist, and humidity can affect the longevity of the curls. Additionally, the more tumbling and stunting the athlete does, the more likely it is that the curls will lose their shape. Be prepared to recurl and restyle your posh as needed to maintain its look!

HOW TO SELECT YOUR COLOR:

Select a color from our color guide that you believe best matches your athlete's hair. Then email us 4-6 photos of their hair in good, natural light so we can confirm correct color match. Photos should be in indoor and outdoor lighting. Hair should be in a high ponytail. Send front, side and back views of hair in ponytail. Opt for a neutral background to keep the focus on your hair. HELPFUL TIP FOR COLOR MATCHING:

Close your eyes and visualize the athlete’s ponytail. When selecting a color, aim to match the shade of their natural ponytail. Since the posh will be attached to their bun, only the roots of their hair will be visible. The roots are usually darker than the rest of the hair, so matching the natural ponytail color ensures that the posh ponytail doesn’t look darker than expected.

IS FALLOUT NORMAL?

Yes, it's perfectly normal to notice some fallout on the edges of your cheer ponytail when you first receive it. Each cheer posh ponytail is custom handmade, and during this process, some natural shedding can occur. This is a common part of creating a high-quality, personalized product and does not affect the overall durability or appearance of your ponytail. If you have any concerns or experience significant shedding, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: Why We Removed the Combs from Our Perfect Posh Ponytails

At The Perfect Posh, athlete safety and product performance are our top priorities. That’s why we’ve made a thoughtful update to our design: we’ve removed the two sewn-in combs from the netting of our cheer ponytails.

After extensive feedback and testing, we found that the combs were not contributing meaningfully to the security of the Posh. In fact, they were often unreliable—breaking over time or, in some cases, poking into the athlete's scalp during wear. That’s a risk we’re simply not willing to take.

We’ve redesigned with intention and care, and we want to assure you that the structure of the Posh remains just as strong and secure as ever. The netting and shape haven’t changed—just the removal of an unnecessary element that didn’t meet our high standards for safety and comfort.

As always, we recommend secure installation using methods like spiral pins, sewing, or zip ties for a snug, confident hold through every full-out and performance.
